-- Rich Dreher has reported that replacement chips have begun to ship for
the upgrade to his CompactFlash for Apple II card. These new chips contain
an instruction change that allows the cards to work properly with 256 meg
or larger CompactFlash cards. Mr. Dreher has also posted a 3-wire jumper
solution necessary to use some previously-incompatible CF media with the
card. More information may be found at: http://spudboy.dreher.net/CFforAppleII

-- Confirmation has been received that Orange Micro, maker of Apple II
peripheral cards and later Mac and IBM-compatible products, have gone out

Company's operations, they nevertheless will be missed. A report on their

-- Early users of the Apple II line of computers were some of the first
folk to learn how to get their computers online to share information. In
the days before the Internet, independent "bulletin board systems" were
the only way to access information. Jason Scott has compiled a
documentary of the history of BBS usage and has made it available on DVD.
